"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

The US Miliary Industrial Complex arose after the creation of the National Security Council in post World War II America. The National Security Council was the forerunner all the secretive intelligence agencies and the powers with which it was bestowed eventually led to the loss of executive oversight by successive US Presidents. This was in effect the creation of a covert, satelite government described by President Bill Clinton as "a shadow government".

Healthcare as a Weapon in a Covert War - Human Population Control
It would be naive to assume that the secret societies would be intent on gaining control of US, British and global politics alone. Multi-national corporations are the engines through which capitalist governments exercise policy and drive economies.
